Day 1

Welcome to Wyoming AstroCamp 2015, an ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp!

 
AstroCamp has blasted off!  After goodbye hugs & kisses with the families, we played games to help learn names and then we developed our own set of camp rules.  Our first lessons involved a GPS-assisted scavenger hunt and healthy choices in the cafeteria. Next we learned about the different sizescales in the Universe and then discussed possible reasons why we may ultimately want to leave Earth and colonize a planet in another solar system.  The night finished with each core group of six campers creating and rehearsing a skit to be given on Day 2 to give the story behind our eventual "Journey to the Stars".
